Hi and welcome to this week’s “Small Business Marketing Friday”

In this week’s video, we’re gonna talk about getting the “Local SEO Basics Right For Your Business”

So, the very first thing you need to do is “claim your listing.”

So this can be done in 1 of 2 ways:

You can either type into Google “Google Business Listing” and then click on the link…

Or, what you can do, is do a search for your business in Google itself.

In this example, I’m using Reflections Coffee Shop and the reason why I’m using them as an example is they haven’t registered their business yet.

So, they can do this in a few ways.

They click on “own this business”, “add number”, “add business hours”, add website.”

I’m gonna do this for example, I’m not gonna go all through it obviously because it’s not my business.

But, what they can do is just click on “own this business” and then just click the terms of service as well.

And again, you can actually register your business this way.

So, once you’ve got your business registered you must fill out your profile completely!

And when I say completely you must add your phone number, business hours and most importantly your website.

So, if we have a look at “Costa Coffee” for example.

As a competitor. Quite a large competitor. As you can see, they’ve got a nice description, they’ve got the address, they’ve got the hours that the coffee shop is open.

And really important is they’ve added pictures!

So, let’s go over all the things you need to do.

You need to fully complete your “places listing.”

Choose the right categories where you want your business to be found.

Write a meaningful description.

Don’t forget you want your description to be persuasive and drive clicks.

Also include “rich content” and by rich content I mean, images, videos even special offers and coupon codes.

Top priority is to encourage your customers to leave reviews on Google.

Lastly, integrate on Google Plus. Yeah, I know, you thought it was dead.

However, Google seems to think it’s still important.

I hope you enjoyed this video?

Thank you so much for watching and I’ll see ya next week!
